They employ approximately 55,000 associates, and operate approximately 1,500 pet stores in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. PetSmart provides a broad range of competitively priced pet food and pet products and offers dog training, pet grooming, pet boarding, PetSmart Doggie Day Camp day care services and pet adoption services in-store. PetSmart previously traded on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the symbol PETM, but in December 2014, PetSmart was acquired by BC Partners for $8.7 Billion and taken private. PetSmart had a revenue of $6.9 Billion in 2014 and is currently ranked as the 48th largest private company in the U.S by Forbes.
