Goodwill Industries International Inc., or Goodwill for short, is an American nonprofit organization that provides job training, employee placement services, and other community-based programs for people who have barriers preventing them from obtaining a job. Utilizing funding from over 3,000 retail stores, Goodwill strives to meet the needs of all job seekers, placing over 312,000 people into employment in 2015. Founded in 1902 by a minister named Rev. Edgar J. Helms, Goodwill now sits as one of the largest non-profits in the world, worth over $5.59 billion. Goodwill is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, and operates globally in 17 countries. There are currently no investment grade ratings for holders of Goodwill bonds.
