Concurrent exchange refers to a method of executing a tax deferred exchange (aka [1031 exchange](https://www.realized1031.com/glossary/1031-exchange) or like-kind exchange) where the sale of the [relinquished property ](https://www.realized1031.com/glossary/relinquished-property) and the acquisition of the [replacement property](https://www.realized1031.com/glossary/replacement-property) close or transfer at the same time. Also referred to as a simultaneous exchange.
